Analysis[]

The Tridon is cheaper and faster-moving, and possesses a better Fuel Supply than the Gepard does. Its armor and firepower are similar, only moderately less than what the Gepard possesses. The Tridon falls short in Target Range, however- 1 less than the Gepard's TR of 3, which means the Tridon must be within the firing range of a great many ground units in the game to fire at a target. In addition to forcing it to get uncomfortably close to ground units to fire on them, the Tridon's limited TR means it will have difficulty effectively covering EU forces from enemy aircraft.

Veterancy[]

If a Tridon survives to be promoted to Experience or Veteran status, its Hit Points and Fuel Supply increase each time. Those upgraded statistics are:

  • Experienced:
  • Veteran:

Behind the Scenes[]

  • The Tridon is the TRIDON 40mm L/70 self-propelled air defence gun, a Swedish self-propelled air-defense artillery system developed by Bofors for the Swedish military. Bofors installed their 40mm antiaircraft gun on the Volvo 725 6x6 truck chassis, and fitted it with an armour-protected fully enclosed cab for the crew of five, although only two crew members are required to operate the system. It was never put into service.
