Analysis[]

The T-90 is one of the best standard Heavy Armor units in the game, and is the most expensive of all the standard MBTs at $50,000. Its anti-infantry and anti-armor rate are better than either of its main potential opponents, the Abrams and the Leopard 2, and it can move at 6 hexes per turn, making it as fast as any other Heavy Armor unit in the game. With better anti-vehicle firepower and 1 point more in its defense rating and hit points, the T-90 is as good as or better than any other Heavy Armor unit in the entire game, save for some of the FCS tanks and the EU Goliath.

Even against those heavier tanks, the T-90 is more than capable of holding its own. It is a dangerous enemy on the attack or defense, especially in the multiplayer, where the player can select many more of them than are fielded by the Russian Federation AI in the final mission of the campaign.

Behind the Scenes[]

  • The T-90 uses an automatic loading system for its main gun just as the similar T-80 and both tanks' predecessor, the T-72. Consequently, the tank has a crew of three: commander, gunner and driver.
  • Despite having a maximum rated speed of 37 MPH, the T-90 is rated at the same movement speed per turn as the Abrams, whose M1A2 variant can reach 42 MPH governed.
